About Us

Mission & Philosophy

The foundation of Ginkgo Asset Management’s identity focuses on longevity, resilience, and a deeply rooted presence in Asia

We don’t just buy assets. We make them better. Ginkgo operates across two integrated capabilities: active asset management — acquisition, divestment, leasing, repositioning — and structured investment vehicles across Asia. We are operators, not allocators: we take direct responsibility for the performance of the assets we own and manage.

We have cultivated enduring relationships across Asia’s diverse markets. As a family-owned business, we prioritise long-term growth and intergenerational stewardship over short-term gains.

We focus on commercial, hospitality and industrial assets, enhancing value through strategic investment and hands-on management. Our approach is adaptive, enabling us to navigate market cycles and shifts while maintaining strategic focus.

Rooted. Adaptive. Enduring.

Origin Story

Why Ginkgo

We chose the Ginkgo name because it reflects our investment philosophy. The ginkgo tree has survived for over 270 million years, adapting to changing environments while remaining true to its core character. Similarly, we seek assets with enduring relevance, and we actively manage them to thrive through changing market cycles.

Like the generations who planted ginkgo trees knowing they would never personally benefit from their shade, we take a longer-term view, balancing present performance with sustainable value creation for the future.

Ginkgo Asset Management is a member of TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), a fourth-generation family business headquartered in Singapore. Founded in the late 1800s, TPC has evolved with the needs of each era – from shipping and maritime industry to industrial operations, investment, and well-being – building businesses across Asia for more than 120 years. its commitment
is stated simply: to serve the well-being of life and create wealth at the same time.

Ginkgo carries this ethos into real assets – patient capital, hands-on stewardship, and value measured across generations.

Strategy

Why Asia — market thesis

Asian Family Roots with Institutional Grade Expertise

Like the Ginkgo tree itself, our roots run deep. Across Asia’s diverse markets, we have cultivated enduring relationships, local knowledge, and institutional credibility that allow us to navigate complexity with confidence and clarity.

Many of the region’s most attractive real estate opportunities never enter broadly marketed channels. They emerge through trust, reputation, and decades-long relationships with owners, operators, and local stakeholders.
In markets dominated by domestic players, foreign investors often struggle
to gain meaningful access despite an abundance of capital.

Ginkgo was built to bridge this gap. Our presence on the ground, combined with an established history of transacting and managing assets locally, enables us to unlock opportunities that others cannot easily access.
By connecting global capital with deeply local networks, we create pathways to differentiated investments and sustainable long-term value.

Trust

Responsible Investing

At Ginkgo, we view responsible investing as an expression of good stewardship. Environmental, social, and governance considerations are embedded into the way we source, underwrite, manage, and ultimately exit investments. Rather than treating ESG as a compliance exercise, we view
it as a framework for protecting and enhancing long-term value.

Because we actively manage our assets, we have the ability to influence outcomes directly. Whether through refurbishment and repositioning initiatives, improvements in operational efficiency, responsible tenant selection, or stronger governance practices, we seek to create assets that serve the needs of investors, occupiers, communities, and future generations alike. We believe that long-term value creation and responsible stewardship are mutually reinforcing objectives.
